Course Overview

Olympus University is pleased to present an innovative training program on Endoscope Reprocessing. The Certified Endoscopy Reprocessing Trainer (CERT) program is the first comprehensive endoscope reprocessing training program offered in Canada by any organization. The program is conducted in our training facility in Richmond Hill. Attendees are eligible for continuing education credits (CEU’s). This course is also recognized by Canadian Standards Association as a training course that will satisfy the training rep-requisite for the CMDRT program.

The complexity of reprocessing flexible endoscopes demands a standardized approach that is consistent, procedure after procedure. The 3 day CERT program provides intense hands-on training, tools, and information to a hospital or regional training coordinator, which will enable them to establish training and quality assurance protocols within their hospital or region. CERT is designed for key personnel such as nurses, managers, educators, risk managers, and lead MDRD infection control practitioners who are responsible for the development of reprocessing protocols and quality assurance standards for reprocessing flexible endoscopes and Endo-therapy Accessories.

The last ½ day of the course will be dedicated to training on the Olympus OER Pro Automated Endoscope Reprocessor.
